A tense Bonus Round moment on Wheel of Fortune has viewers divided after one contestant appeared to beat the buzzer by only a fraction of a second — and walked away with nearly $61,000.

Contestant Lynette Farmer became the center of debate following a dramatic finish that had fans questioning whether her answer truly came in before time expired.

The episode featured returning champion Brad Baca, an assistant high school principal and former football coach from Atlanta. Baca entered the game riding momentum from an impressive first appearance, where he had already earned nearly $79,000 during the show’s Spring Forward champions event.

Competing against Farmer and fellow contestant Benson Christie, Baca got off to another strong start by solving early puzzles and securing valuable prizes, including an international trip.

Farmer, meanwhile, steadily climbed the leaderboard throughout the game after solving a crossword-style puzzle and winning a vacation to Montenegro. By the time the final rounds arrived, the contest had become incredibly close, with only a slim margin separating her from Baca.

Everything came down to the Bonus Round.

Farmer selected the category “Thing” and brought her husband and twins onstage to cheer her on. After the standard letters were revealed, she chose additional consonants and a vowel that left the puzzle partially filled in.

The board eventually displayed a phrase that looked nearly complete, but the answer was still far from obvious.

As the countdown clock ticked away, Farmer rapidly tried multiple guesses. She first blurted out incorrect phrases before finally landing on “Unbelievable Move” just as the buzzer sounded.

For a split second, confusion filled the studio.

Host Ryan Seacrest quickly confirmed that the judges ruled her answer arrived in time, sparking cheers from the audience and her family.

The ruling added $40,000 to her winnings, pushing her total to more than $60,000 and earning her a return appearance on the next episode.

But once the clip hit social media, fans immediately began dissecting the moment frame by frame.

Some viewers insisted Farmer clearly completed the phrase before the buzzer fully sounded, praising her for an incredible last-second recovery. Others argued there was too much hesitation between words and questioned whether the judges should have counted the response.

Online discussions quickly exploded, with several fans calling it one of the closest Bonus Round finishes in recent memory.

One viewer wrote that the solve was “incredibly clutch,” while another claimed the pause between words should have disqualified the answer.

Others defended the decision, pointing out that game show judges often allow contestants to finish speaking if they begin the correct answer before time officially expires.

Regardless of which side fans fall on, the nail-biting moment instantly became one of the most talked-about segments from the latest season of Wheel of Fortune — and it ensured Farmer’s dramatic victory won’t soon be forgotten.
