Trump celebrated the performance on Truth Social, sharing a video of what he described as the winning putt.
The president also highlighted what he characterized as a lack of practice time, arguing that his responsibilities in Washington leave him with little opportunity to prepare for tournaments.
Trump said he finished with a 70, crediting the victory to what he described as his natural talent.
The announcement quickly reignited longstanding arguments about Trump’s golf record. Critics have frequently accused the president of taking liberties with the rules or inflating his accomplishments on the course, allegations Trump has rejected.
The latest debate took another turn when video emerged showing Trump stepping off Marine One. In the footage, the president can be seen moving down the helicopter’s staircase and walking across the tarmac. Some viewers focused on what appeared to be a slight limp.
The video prompted sarcastic reactions from social media users, several of whom questioned how the president could have produced a championship-level score shortly before appearing to move cautiously after leaving the helicopter.
Trump has maintained a high-profile relationship with golf throughout his political career. Since taking office again in January 2025, Trump has continued to make regular time for golf, according to the tracking website Did Trump Golf Today?, which tracks his golf outings.
His reported USGA handicap has also drawn attention. Trump has claimed an exceptionally low handicap while frequently discussing his success at clubs bearing his name.
The president has previously said he has won dozens of club championships at his properties around the world.
That claim has faced skepticism from sports journalist Rick Reilly, author of Commander in Cheat, a book examining allegations surrounding Trump’s golf habits.
Reilly previously argued that Trump’s method for recording club championship victories involved playing in events with little or no competition before declaring himself the winner.
