The second high school, opened in 2014, is Midlothian Heritage High School, and the "Jaguars" compete in 5A sports and extracurricular activities as of the 2022-2023 school year.

In May 2015, Padera Lake, located three miles northwest of Midlothian, was full from torrential rains.
