The Park was named after George Allesee Sr (18989-1968), long time Physical Director of the La Porte YMCA who also broadcast La Porte Slicers Games on the Radio for 50 years.

Rumley Park (Home Street) is a 4-acre neighborhood park that was purchased and developed entirely with federal funds in 1980.
