Young Man Captures Venomous Snake and Opts Keep it Pet Ends Looking Photos

SOMEWHERE IN THE US — Back in August 2015, a daring young adventurer decided to turn a potentially deadly encounter into a pet project, and it didn’t exactly go as planned.

It all started when the man, whose name wasn’t widely reported at the time, spotted a venomous snake during what he later described as a routine hike. Instead of leaving well enough alone, he managed to catch the creature with his bare hands and a makeshift bag, apparently fueled by a mix of bravado and curiosity. He figured keeping it as a pet would make for a cool story, maybe even show off his wild side to friends online. People do strange things sometimes, especially when they’re young and think they’re invincible.

Things took a turn pretty quickly. The guy brought the snake home, set up a basic enclosure, and started snapping pictures to share with his social circle. But snakes aren’t exactly the loyal type, and this one soon made a break for it, slithering out of its setup and causing a minor panic in the neighborhood. Neighbors spotted it in their yards and freaked out, leading to a hasty call to animal control. In the end, the photos he took—probably meant to brag—ended up circulating as part of the whole messy affair, turning him into a cautionary tale rather than a hero.

While no one got seriously hurt, the incident sparked a bit of buzz on social media and local forums, with folks debating whether this was just a dumb mistake or a sign of bigger issues with exotic pets. It’s hard not to shake your head at the idea of turning a venomous animal into a roommate, especially when things go south so fast. All in all, it served as a reminder that some adventures are better left in the wild.
